Free Supplements
In today’s economy, nobody wants to be wasting money on pointless things, and when trying to save your money, buying unnecessary things can be the difference between a big savings balance, and an overdrawn one! In fitness, supplements are important when trying to speed up the process, and in order to get the most out of your workouts, they are a necessity, but what about the people who don’t have the money to indulge in sport supplements? A small tub of protein shake can cost anywhere from $30 to $100, and when it only lasts you a few weeks, that is a huge price to pay, so why not save your hard earned cash and try the way cheaper alternative: Free supplements!
You are probably thinking: ‘there is no such thing as free supplements’, when as a matter of fact there is: It is called food!
As an estimate, I would say that 90% of the ingredients you find in a sport supplement can be found in everyday food, and at just a fraction of the price. Obviously, the effects may not be as apparent, and it may take a little longer, but when you are on a strict budget and don’t want to waste hundreds of dollars on supplements, then you will have to suffice.
In real terms, these so called ‘free supplements’ are not actually free, as the food itself will cost, but when you realise that most of the foods are what you buy every week on your weekly shop, it becomes clear that they are indeed free supplements, as you don’t have to go out of your way to buy them, or spend any more money than you actually would. Understand?
Possibly the most common, and most eaten free supplement is egg. Almost every household across the world will buy eggs at some point, and most people will eat eggs regularly, especially if you are health conscious. Costing as little as $3 per dozen, eggs are a fantastic source of protein. With an average protein content of 6g per egg, and with just around 75 calories, it is no wonder you saw Rocky down a couple raw every morning before his daily workout, they are crazy cheap and they work! Yes, a protein shake will contain around 3+ times more protein than an egg, but it also costs 10x the price! Eggs are easy to cook, they taste great, and they contain tons of protein, so make sure you stock up on your next shopping round!
Obviously, protein is not the only supplement needed by the body to perform at its best, and eggs may not be your thing, but if protein is something you want to keep at a high quantity, then foods such as tuna, sardines, milk, beans and nuts will help you get that.
Have you ever heard of the cartoon called Popeye? I’m going to guess that you probably have, and what was Popeye famous for? That’s right, having bulging muscles after downing a can of spinach, and many of you will probably believe that it’s just a cartoon and a fictional way of promoting healthy eating in kids, but the whole theory of building massive muscles after eating spinach actually has some truth to it! Eating one whole KG of spinach every day can have the same effect on the body as a weak anabolic steroid! Crazy, right? Now I am guessing not many people here will manage to eat a KG of spinach per day, but if you keep your spinach intake at a moderate level, it has been scientifically proven to help build hard, lean muscle, due to its high iron content. How cool is that?
So, if money is an issue and you want to save yourself a few dollars, why not try substituting some free supplements in your diet? They are everywhere, just check out the labels on your foods. Some good foods to stock up on are ones which contain protein, niacin, nitric oxide, guarana, caffeine and omega 3 fish oils. Eating foods containing these nutrients on a regular basis will indeed help get that physique you have always wanted, without the price tag!
